1/13: Learning to Let Go of the Day.
1/13: Learning to let go of the day!
One thing that I teach my clients over and over, and one thing I do myself almost without fail, is to let go of the day.
It’s so important to release the last 24 hours, its energies, and all that did or did not come with it!!
Releasing the last 24 hours is probably the best stress reliever I know.
When we release each day, either at night just before bed, or during our morning practice, we create space in our life for the days to be as they will be.
We stop dragging yesterday into sleep time, and stop carrying it around in our body.
We release obsessing and worrying over what was, and we become present to what wants to unfold for us now.
When I don’t remember to do this, I catch myself getting cranky, and spinning on issues, rethinking conversations, wondering what could have been different, and more.
That’s not where I want to be living from!
I want to be open, both energetically and emotionally, to THIS day.
And to do that, I truly need to let go of the one before.
Make sense?
Here’s one of my favorite quotes on this topic:
“finish each day and be done with it. you have done what you could. some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. tomorrow is a new day. you shall begin it serenely, and with to high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
