3/16: Blessed Sabbath

3/16

Blessed Sabbath

Thursdays are my Sabbath.

It’s when I unplug from the world, from the news, from my work, my to-do lists, my should do’s, my must do’s, and my busyness.

When the week has been productive and terrific with lots of momentum, it’s hard to stop.

But I do it anyway, and I am always so incredibly grateful that I did.

When the week has been stressful, challenging, or has taken some unexpected twists and turns, it’s somewhat easier to stop.

And I do so, and am always so incredibly grateful that I did.

On Thursday morning I literally take the phone cord out of the jack, and shut everything down.

No internet, no phone, no computer.

Then I place my special “only for Sabbath” candle on the stove top, and allow myself to move into my Sabbath energy, fully, completely, and gratefully.

On Sabbath there are no chores, no errands, no appointments, no driving (and no t.v. if you have one).

It’s a day to relax, nap a little, read, listen to music, and to just BE.

It’s my weekly blessed gift to myself, my heart, my wellness, my balance, my be-ingness, my soul, and my Light.

I always come back softer, refocused, grounded, settled, and inspired.

Such a blessing.

If you are interested in learning how to set up a Sabbath time of your own, I highly recommend the book “Sabbath. Finding Rest, Renewal, and Delight in Our Busy Lives” by Wayne Muller.

It will change your life, if you let it. Guaranteed.
